The El Pimpi Foundation has once again demonstrated the power of solidarity. In this edition of Soles de Málaga, it has donated €155,459.83 to 11 social organizations in Málaga. With this milestone, the project reaches a historic figure: over one million euros raised since its creation.
The donation ceremony was held at Málaga City Hall, hosted by actress and Foundation ambassador Belinda Washington. The event was attended by several authorities, including Mayor Francisco de la Torre, Deputy President of the Provincial Council Toñi Ledesma, Territorial Delegate Ruth Sarabia, and Councillor for Social Rights Francisco Cantos, among others. Representatives of the benefiting NGOs, partner companies, and more than a hundred volunteers were also present.
50% of the funds raised went to three major social projects:
Fundación Nena Paine, which is currently protecting a young girl victim of international trafficking.
IncluDD, which supports people at risk of exclusion after traumatic accidents.
Asociación Dyar, which has helped a migrant mother rebuild her life through employment and stability.
The remaining 50% was shared among the following organizations: Afenes, Amfremar, Inpavi, La Casa de la Buena Vida, Lagunillas Neighborhood Association, Altamar, Nada es Imposible, and Adintre. These entities work in neighborhoods particularly affected by social exclusion.
This year’s edition gathered over 3,000 people for a day of solidarity, music, culture, and community spirit, held last April under the slogan “Stop, Fight, Help”.
The event was made possible thanks to the support of the Málaga Provincial Council, City Hall, the “la Caixa” Foundation, Lágrimas y Favores, Mahou San Miguel, and more than thirty companies, including Bodega El Pimpi, Sanamar, Larios, Grupo Fox, Quirón Salud, and Coca-Cola.
“Soles de Málaga shows that this city always responds when it comes to helping those most in need. A million thanks to everyone who made it possible,” said Luis Merino Bayona, president of the El Pimpi Foundation.
